Dr. Rania Ibrahim is the Founder and Executive Director of Innova Healthcare Consultancy, a trailblazer in transforming healthcare delivery and systems innovation in Ethiopia. With over 15 years of diverse experience across clinical medicine, public health, and healthcare innovation, she brings a unique blend of frontline experience and strategic vision to her work. Dr. Rania began her medical career as a General Practitioner at a military hospital in Ethiopia, where she gained firsthand insight into the structural and operational challenges within the healthcare system. Driven by a desire to create lasting change, she transitioned into public health and strategic advisory roles, including serving as a Senior Technical Advisor at the Federal Ministry of Health. One of her most notable achievements was establishing the Innovative Strategies and Operations Office at St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC), where she spearheaded institutional reforms that bridged policy and practice. In 2010, she co-founded Telemed–HelloDoctor Ethiopia, the country’s first home-based medical advisory service, providing remote healthcare consultations to underserved communities. Her journey into digital health continued through her participation in the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), which further honed her leadership and systemic thinking.
